One component of wildlife conservation projects is the development and implementation of a population monitoring program. Population monitoring is crucial in understanding the population biology and viability of a species. Knowing the spatial distribution, density and thus population size over time will determine the growth or decline of the population. From this, inferences about change in the population and/or habitat can be made and is the first step in the development of wildlife management strategies and threatened species recovery strategies.
Wildlife CSI can develop and implement population monitoring programs for wildlife management and threatened species recovery, collect, store and analyse data.
