Judith Tomlin

Judith is an experienced wildlife rehabilitator and wildlife specialist with over 20 years experience in wildlife rescue, capture and handling, relocation and care. Judith worked at the Melbourne Zoo for 15 years in a range of administrative support positions, including support for the senior management team and Board of Zoos Victoria. Judith co-developed the Wildlife Husbandry, Rescue and Rehabilitation short course in collaboration with Victoria University and has been one of the course’s principal lecturers. Judith is a Life Member of Wildlife Victoria, Victorias’ largest wildlife rescue organisation and has sat on its Committee of Management. She was also Secretary and Education and Training Coordinator for Wildlife Victoria. Judith owns and manages several large private wilderness properties in Victoria and New South Wales and has a wide knowledge of wildlife in their natural habitats and their behaviours.

Judith is a Director of Wildlife CSI and an experienced animal/wildlife handler, wildlife first-aider and rehabilitator.

Judith holds the following licences, certificates and competencies:

  • Current Victorian Drivers License
  • Construction Industry Red Card (attained April 2004)
  • Category A and B Longarm Firearm Licence
  • Accredited Wildlife Handler – Firearm Safety and Training Council
  • Operate and Maintain Chainsaw certificate
  • Venomous Snake Control certificate

Inoculated for the Australian bat lysavirus (enables the capture and handling of bats)
